Item Análisis de las adaptaciones curriculares aplicadas en los estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales del colegio de bachillerato “Manuel Córdova Galarza”(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-09-04) Tenecela Mora, Henry Rolando; Estrada García, Alex DarioThis research addresses the issue of inclusive education and curricular adaptations for students with special educational needs (SEN) at the Colegio de Bachillerato Manuel Córdova Galarza. Using a mixed qualitative and quantitative methodology, the study evaluates experiences, perceptions and contexts associated with curricular adaptations in order to understand the challenges, obstacles and successes inherent in the implementation of adaptive strategies. The findings reveal significant critical points. It is found that only 25% of educational institutions have staff trained to carry out psychological assessments of students with SEN. An educational approach (63%) towards curricula tailored to individual needs predominates, indicating a trend towards personalisation and individualised attention. However, an alarming 63% of institutions do not follow up on curricular adaptations, indicating a deficiency in systematic monitoring and evaluation. Lack of specialised professionals (63%), insufficient infrastructure and teaching materials (25%), and poor teacher training (13%) are identified as the main barriers. It is further highlighted that most institutions show insufficient preparation for the inclusion of students with SEN. These findings point to the urgent need to improve training, increase available resources, and adopt a more systematic approach to the implementation and monitoring of inclusive strategies. The research underlines the vital importance of inclusive education and equitable access to education as key to the holistic development of all learners, regardless of their particular abilities or challenges.
