Item Aplicación de la Recomendación del Paisaje Urbano Histórico en la zona de El Ejido de Cuenca(2019-08-02) Auquilla Zambrano, Silvia Alexandra; Astudillo Cordero, Jaime SebastiánThe position contemplated by the study of the Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) in the 2011 Recommendation, leads to a macro management for the conservation of urban heritage, which entails the values of the city in its tangible and intangible dimension. The holistic approach is manifested in the 2011 Recommendation, and is taken as a tool to enable the creation of new policies and practices for the safeguarding of cultural contexts. This new conception is, therefore, the most recent modality of heritage preservation, which rather than being considered as a new category of cultural heritage, refers to a new way of approaching the management of historic cities. This new approach transcends the concept of Historic Centre and takes a vision of the city where the study is not only the isolated monument but the sum of the environment that is the element that adds value to it. Cuenca began implementation of the 2011 Recommendation with a multidisciplinary study that creates a proven methodology for the city’s Historic Center. However, the El Ejido zone, which has a direct link to the Historic Center and is part of its buff er and protection area, is still pending. This study focuses on the fi rst expansion zone of the city (El Ejido), which has a modern heritage and urban characteristics worthy of preservation and which, thanks to the complications of urban growth and globalization, are being strongly threatened. Therefore, a methodology based on the territorial exploration of cities that are already implementing the study of the Historic Urban Landscape is proposed to take them as a reference and obtain from these good practices that feed the methodology to be implemented in one of the landscape units validated for the sector of El Ejido showing guidelines for its conservation.
