The following undergraduate thesis experiments through illustrated posters other ways of graphic activism based on a socio-environmental problem within the Azuay province. It relates directly to two metal mining projects: Loma Larga and Río Blanco, which are located on sensitive ecosystems known as páramos, in which various sources of water originate. These projects have become the subject of debate in various social sectors due to the likely contamination risks that this activity can generate in the short and long term. Based on this perspective, the work addresses, through research, the various social and environmental problems that mining activities cause and, through graphic exercises, it also presents an illustrated series of eight posters, which were launched as part of an awareness campaign on water and mining.
