Cuenca 2020(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-03-23) Cuenca Soto, Ana Lucía; Verdugo González, Sandra Karina; Villalta Chungata, Blanca CeciliaBackground: The Syndrome of Burnout is considered like a state of mental, physical and emotional exhaustion, caused by chronic stress that makes it impossible for professionals or students to continue with their jobs on a normal way, considering that this condition could lead to multiple and serious problems both in the work and personal areas, it's important to address this issue, since the interns of the Early Stimulation in Health career, dedicated their time and skills for their well-being and development of the boys and girls who are being care. Objective: To determine the frequency of Burnout Syndrome in residents of the Early Stimulation in Health career at the University of Cuenca. Methodology: It is a descriptive and quantitative study; the frequency of Burnout Syndrome in residents of the Early Stimulation in Health career at the University of Cuenca was determined using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) questionnaire with the statistical program IBM SPSS version 22. Results: The study had a total of 52 residents of the Early Stimulation in Health career at the University of Cuenca, a total of 92.3% are female and 7.7% are male. The investigation found that 1.9% of the female sex presented a high level and 90.4% a low level of Burnout Syndrome; while 7.7% represents the male sex (all males) obtained a low Burnout level.
