Shamanism constitutes a clear object of interest in the Area of Human Sciences, not only for being one of the first manifestations of religiousness in the History of Humanity, but in addition because its vision of the World
served as a source of inspiration for later cultures, in whose myths it is possible to estimate this ancient substratum. Adopting a point of view eminently comparative the present study tries to outline Shamanism´s main characteristics, as well as to trace its influence on other cultures, attending to the figure of the shaman, the configuration of his imaginary and the symbolism of its rituals and celebrations.
