(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-04-06) Zumba Torres, Darwin Mauricio; Díaz Morocho, Dorian Euro
Objective: The present research aims to develop and apply a virtual training model for the development of physical capacities in female gymnasts aged 7 to 11 from the Loja Sports Federation. Therefore, the effects of the development of a strategic plan for the physical capacities of strength and flexibility were quantitatively evaluated according to the objectives achieved. Methodology: It is a pre-experimental study of a single group with a quantitative approach that consists of a single intervention group made up of six girl gymnasts aged7 to 11 years to which a virtual training model was applied during a period of 15 weeks by means of Zoom and Google Meet platforms. The physical abilities test of the International Gymnastics Federation was used. Results: The results obtained on the physical capacities, flexibility and strength, showedthat half of the group of girls reached a good level and the other half remained at an insufficient level, which indicates that in the course of training the individual deficiencieswere worked on of the athletes, however, none of the participants achieved a high levelof performance. Conclusions: The application of the virtual training model proved to be an adequate plan to maintain the gymnasts' physical condition and to avoid the unwanted effects of detraining, but it is not effective in developing the evaluated physical capacities of flexibility and strength. The confinement conditions have generated limitations such as insufficient space, inadequate environment, scarce availability of materials, leading to consequences in the physical and technical preparation and especially in the psychological.
