"According to the International Labour Organisation in 2011 it reports that about 337 million people are victims of occupational accidents and diseases each year" (2). Objective: To identify the biosecurity measures applied by nurses in the operating room of the Hospital "Castanier Crespo Homero" in Azogues, from June to November 2015. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study, the universe has a total of 26 people of which 6 are licensed nurses and 20 nursing assistants, of which part 24. The sample is 100% of the universe. For removal of data previously validated surveys were used: (Esq R. Lopez, Esq M. Lopez in the Tarapoto-Peru 2012 MINSA II-2 Hospital). For two months in the surgical center, the analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential statistics, through the SPSS version 15.0, Excel and Word. Results: Of the 24 professionals and nursing assistants HHCC surgical center during June to November 2015, in the level of knowledge in 87.5% (21) have a degree of knowledge regularly and 12.5% (3) good knowledge. We have determined that most have a regular level of knowledge. It seems that it would not correctly applying biosecurity measures
