    Conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas de médicos posgradistas de la Universidad de Cuenca sobre prevención combinada de VIH/SIDA. Cuenca, 2020

    SUMMARY: HIV/AIDS is a major public health problem worldwide due to the millions of lives it has claimed. Currently, there is the so-called Combined Prevention, a new strategy that combines biomedical, behavioral and structural interventions, in order to reduce the number of new infections around the world. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Identify the knowledge, attitudes and practices of Postgraduate Doctors of the University of Cuenca on HIV/AIDS prevention. Cuenca. 2020. METHODOLOGY: An observational cross-sectional study was carried out at the Postgraduate Center of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca. Considering a universe of 224 students, a sample size of 142 was obtained. The information was collected via survey, the data were tabulated using Excel 2016 and SPSS v22. and their results were presented in frequency tables. RESULTS: Of 142 graduate students from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca, 100% recognize the use of condoms and 95.1% comprehensive sexual education as prevention mechanisms. 70.4% do not recognize pre-exposure prophylaxis, and 77.5%, post-exposure prophylaxis. 61.3% refer to using a condom in casual sex. 5.6% indicate the isolation of seropositive people as a preventive measure. CONCLUSIONS: Through data collection, the level of knowledge, attitudes and practices of the postgraduates of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca on Combined Prevention of HIV / AIDS was determined.
