Item Percepciones y significados del patrimonio arqueológico en San Lucas, sitio Tambo Blanco(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-09-09) Zhunaula Morocho, Abel de Jesús; Novillo Verdugo, Miguel ÁngelThe current investigation has as its study area the parroquia of San Lucas, in cantón Loja, specifically in the site called Tambo Blanco. Tambo Blanco is a place where there is a diversity of archaeological remains that are part of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the southern region of Ecuador. The historical background of Tambo Blanco shows a pre-Hispanic occupation of great significance due to the archaeological remains still present, such as: stepped terraces, central palace, barracks (Kallanka), Qollqas, Capac Ñan, among others. However, this archaeological wealth is constantly being altered and at risk of destruction due to human activities. Moreover, the lack of knowledge of the population on the subject of heritage is a sign of the lack of importance of archaeological heritage in the region, which has led to the loss of identity, memory, appropriation and belonging of society to its history. In this sense, the objective of this work is to analyze, based on historical and archaeological data, the different settlements that occurred in Tambo Blanco. As well as to generate a record of the archaeological elements found on the surface. And, finally, to investigate and determine the perceptions and meanings that the inhabitants have about the archaeological heritage of this sector, through techniques such as interviews, in-depth conversations and participatory mapping. This research is expected to leave a record of the Tambo Blanco archaeological site based on perceptions and meanings, and photographs of the site with evidence of lithic material, ceramics, structures and terraces, whose information can be used for future research in greater depth.
