    Background: It is very important that women who come to the Health Center # 1 Pumapungo in the area of gynecology, have knowledge of HIV / AIDS, considering that the onset of sexual activity begins early, without liability to bear the consequences of this disease. Objective: To determine knowledge, attitudes and practices of HIV / AIDS in women attending the Gynecology Health Center # 1 Pumapungo Cuenca, 2014. Methodology: this research was descriptive, his universe settle for 165 women. The survey form on knowledge, attitudes and practices of HIV / AIDS developed and validated by the authors, the data obtained were analyzed in SPSS 18, Excel, Word programs, presentation boards are used as a technique and instrument; and their analysis. Results Of the 165 women who participated, 49.1% were aged 16-25 years, the level of knowledge indicates that 90.3% had knowledge about HIV / AIDS, attitudes towards the subject found that 78.2% had an attitude positive practices in HIV / AIDS the highest rate is 73.9% of women who begin their sexual life from 15 to 25 years and an alarming sign non-use of condoms in 44.2% Conclusion: Results of this study show that of the 165 women 90.3% have knowledge about HIV / AIDS
