Cuenca 2018(2019-11-11) Zambrano Sigüenza, Damaris Carolina; Zamora Avecillas, Kimberly Susana; Pesántez Díaz, Tania LorenaBACKGROUND: A primary task of the nervous system during childhood is the acquisition of skills or abilities, this maturation is known as development, which has a similar sequence or order in all children, but bearing in mind that they may have a variable pace in the acquisition of skills, so, it is considered important to assess to identify strengths and weaknesses within development. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: determine the age of development of the children who attend the CIBV Pitufos del Valle and San Agustín, through the Battelle Development Inventory. METHODOLOGY: The present investigation was a quantitative study of a descriptive and cross-sectional type, carried out in children between 2 and 4 years old who attend the CIBV San Agustín and Los Pitufos del Valle. The application tool is the Battelle Development Inventory. In the following investigation, descriptive statistics and programs are used, such as: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Free IBM SPSS Statistics version 23 software for Windows. RESULTS: In our research we found that 83. 1% of the children evaluated had a developmental age according to their chronological age. Considering sex, women and men are mostly at the developmental age of 36-47 months. With respect to strengths and weaknesses, we found that the areas of communication and motor skills require the most attention to ensure the integral development of children
