    Estilos de vida y nivel de adherencia a hemodiálisis en los pacientes con insuficiencia renal crónica que asisten al Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga. Cuenca 2017

    Background: Chronic diseases are the cause of death in the world, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there are 35 million deaths attributed to chronic renal failure (CRF). The progressive increase of patients with this disease with renal replacement therapy (RRT) reaches epidemic numbers, with an annual growth rate of 5-8% in developed countries. Objective: To determine lifestyles and level of adherence to hemodialysis in patients with chronic renal failure attending José Carrasco Arteaga Cuenca 2017. Methodology: A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out. The universe of 1253 patients, the sample of 267, the research technique used was the survey to assess lifestyles from the questionnaire (KDQOL-36) and to measure therapeutic adherence to the questionnaire (DDFQ), instruments validated in other research. The processing was performed in Excel programs, SPSS, for the analysis and interpretation of information was used descriptive statistics. Results: 77% of patients with chronic renal insufficiency are male, 23% female, the incidence is higher in men. The age in 44.3% of these patients is 65-84 years, 93% of patients have poor lifestyles, the level of adherence to hemodialysis is inadequate is related to diet, exercise, work activity in 19,8% of parents. Conclusions: Patients with CRF have a poor quality of life; the level of adherence to hemodialysis treatment is conditioned by dietary, fluid, and labor activities.
