Líneas de atención para solventar necesidades de parroquias rurales vulnerables en la provincia del Azuay
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-08-24) Yunga Freire, Doris Anabel; Pacurucu Cáceres, Natalia Elizabeth
The objective of this research is to generate lines of attention to meet the needs of vulnerable rural parishes in the province of Azuay, within the framework of the "UR-GENTE. The University in Rural Areas". The study responds to the high incidence of Unsatisfied Basic Needs (UBN) in these areas, where according to the Provincial Government of Azuay (2018), 14 parishes present indices higher than 90% of UBN. The methodology adopts a descriptive, correlational and explanatory approach, incorporating qualitative and quantitative techniques. Fieldwork was conducted, with the cooperation of the linkage project team, through interviews with parish council presidents and surveys of the population served by the parish capitals, complemented by direct observation. The data will be processed using Access for statistical analysis and ArcGIS for spatial visualization of territorial needs. The project will be structured in five chapters ranging from the conceptual framework to the generation of lines of attention. The research seeks to generate a socio-territorial diagnosis to identify urgent needs, areas of vulnerability and development opportunities, to subsequently define lines of attention aligned with the strategic objectives of the University of Cuenca and the rural parish GADs around urban planning.
