Item Aplicación del simulador Chemsep para la separación de la mezcla etanol-agua en la unidad de destilación discontinua del Laboratorio Tecnológico de la Universidad de Cuenca(2018) Yanza Quito, Carlos Alfredo; Astudillo Zúñiga, Jorge Israel; Vázquez Guillén, Juan JoséThe objective of this investigation was the application of the ChemSep simulator to the Discontinuous Distillation Unit of the unitary operations laboratory of the University of Cuenca, through the selection of the thermodynamic combination for the calculation of: The values of K, equation of state, coefficient of activity, vapor pressure and enthalpy required by ChemSep for the distillation of the ethanol-water mixture. Simulation in ChemSep strictly follows the operation data of the column such as feed composition, heat losses, reflux ratio and column configuration, obtained at the time of sampling time. For the determination of the appropriate combination, a first theoretical discrimination was performed for models that do not meet the working conditions of this investigation, resulting in 26 combinations for the experimental conditions, then the 4 combinations of thermodynamic models that were evaluated through of statistical tests such as: determination coefficients, F tests and hypothesis validation tests. Finally, the thermodynamic combination that showed the highest repeatability of approval through the statistical filter was selected by individually comparing the liquid-vapor equilibrium variables. The combination of thermodynamic models that were adjusted with satisfactory indicators to the experimental data was: GammaPhi - PredictiveSRK - Unifac - Antoine - Predictive SRK to solve the values of K - State equation - Activity Coefficient - Steam Pressure - Enthalpy, respectively; with 95% confidence and 100% approval in comparison cases.
