    Evidencia psicométrica del cuestionario sobre normas culturales: dignidad, imagen y honor en Cuenca

    The study reports psychometric evidence of structural and internal validity of the “Measurement Model for Cultural Norms: Dignity, Face, and Honor” questionnaire in a sample of 256 adults from Cuenca, Ecuador. Using an instrumental design, the psychometric properties were evaluated through exploratory factor analysis with data collected from a linguistically and culturally adapted questionnaire. The results revealed that an eight-factor structure provides greater accuracy in measuring cultural norms compared to five- and six-factor models. This structure includes dimensions such as the norm of masculinity ideology and integrative strategy, highlighting previously unidentified subdimensions. Although some items did not contribute significantly, the proposed model explains 54% of underscore the importance of considering specific cultural contexts when adapting psychological instruments, suggesting revisions to enhance their applicability and validity in future research.
