Nevertheless, there are subjects that have been overlooked in the Ecuadorian educational institutions. One of these topics is menstruation; despite having its upbringing on internal and external projects on the formal education system, others advocating for its use, and the commercialism of the alternative feminine hygiene products, there has not been an encouragement within the academic institutions to introduce it furthermore by implementing critical thinking in the topic. With this context, nowadays, female writers around the world have been striving to represent the social, cultural and political taboo surrounding menstruation through children’s literature with a didactic purpose. Taking into consideration that reading is a continuous process to comprehension and critical thinking in every subject of the educational system, the work we present pretends to develop their skills and competence with critical reading, specific on the taboo topic of menstruation via hispanic-american children's literature from the XXI century. Readings will be presented to eighth grade students from the basic general education system, following a didactic sequence along with the sexual education program proposed by the Ministry of Education. Therefore, the focus became the elaboration of a didactic sequence based on the critique and analysis of literature. The previously mentioned sequence was created to answer the question: In what manner can we achieve a critical reading of the taboo topic of menstruation within the eighth graders of the basic general education through children’s literature, in order to contribute to the school’s curriculum of sexual education? To answer the question, we opt for a qualitative methodology of the didactic nature (Godino, 2013), divided in two parts; we have the literary analysis of the corpus, with a hermeneutical approach based on the proposal by Antonio Garrido (2004) regarding the hermeneutic loop. Subsequently, we suggest, from a cognitive and social focus with a base on reading to learn, a didactic sequence is established through the interaction theory by Solé (1992/2014) & Sensevy (2007), the theory of didactic situations by Brousseau (2007) and the composition of the didactic sequences by Díaz Barriga (2013). This sequence was developed in the Educational Institution Herlinda Toral with the collaboration of the eighth grade of the basic general education class “A”, in which 36 students participated, who broadened their knowledge and defended their own critical position about the topicItem El racismo en los dichos populares de Cuenca(2016) Corral Escudero, Ana Camila; Larriva Regalado, David Santiago; Washima Zhunio, Victoria EugeniaThe following paper studies phrases, proverbs and sayings frequently used in Cuenca as agents and vehicles of racial symbolic violence. Although the teaching of reading is one of the primary objectives of any educational activity, teaching activity, in most cases, does not give adequate treatment to facilitate and benefit their learning. We ask ourselves then, in what way can teachers motivate their students, as a result of their curriculum, to read literary works? This work aims to propose didactic situations for the reading comprehension of horror stories in virtual environments for the first year of high school. For the design and application of our model, we use the theory of Didactic Situations proposed by Brousseau (2007), who suggests four moments to take into consideration during the class -action, formulation, validation and institutionalization-. Our intervention group was made up of 8 students from the Salesian Agronomic Educational Unit -located in the city of Paute- with whom, in a period of 3 hours of class, we used various virtual resources to read three horror stories: The new catacomb, The Monkey's Paw and The Feather Cushion. We do all of this using didactic engineering as a methodology. Finally, it was determined that, for reading and comprehension of texts to be skills developed and acquired by students, teachers must: create optimal teaching-learning environments; and, in addition to this, choose didactic methodologies according to the needs of your work group. The research work aims to make a rough study of the work of Argentine writer , author despite being one of the most important Latin American Boom , did not receive due recognition in their life and narrative. The novel, “La Casa” the object of our analysis is shown as a manor house built in the late eighteenth century, located on street Florida, one of the most elegant streets of Buenos Aires. The novel begins with a monologue presentation itself that counts its history in the course of his narrative. The history of the house, is intimately linked to the history of Argentina, as its author, Manuel MujicaLainez, uses the physical structure of the house as a metaphor for his country, this due to the constant changes that were being inflicted on due to Argentine Peronist regime, showing the rise and fall of a wealthy social class Argentina, through the vision of this old house, which is about to be demolished. Our analysis will appeal to the theory and methodology of semiotics to try a possible interpretation of the salient aspects of the work. Keywords: semiotics, literary semiotics, semiotic analysis, magical realism, fantasy literature, sociological realities, aesthetic language, influences, characters, classes.
