The purpose of this project is to design an interior garden in a family house within the Historical Center of the City of the Cuenca. For this project we have considered a historical, conceptual and referential point of view. We will talk about gardens along history and their characteristics and functionality and a deep analysis of the type of garden according to its use in our city has been performed. Through a sampling process we have observed and analyzed different houses obtaining a clear register of the current preservation stage of each space. Later on, starting from concepts and guidelines for the generation of shapes in interior garden design we will prepare a source of support to finally present a useful and harmonic proposal, which keeps the characteristics and vegetation type according to our conditions and environments. We will also try to represent the criteria learned along the project in order to create a guide to design any type of gardens

It has now been found that the main objective of Interior Design is to improve the quality of life of people who meet a series of daily activities within an interior space. This thesis discusses the importance of Design and Management school environments presented as an opportunity for optimal educational development of a student. Harnessing of physical factors of the environment and within these punctually lighting, creates environmental psychology within a space, influencing stimuli and sensations of each student who respond to an improvement in performance and learning ability.

Nowadays the public spaces contribute to the knowledge and development of culture, arts and communication, the Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation of the Municipality of Cuenca met and enhances the development of these activities, which are included in the Integral plan of development of good living. The development of this thesis consists of proposing a Design proposal according to the Institution's needs, in terms of a stand due to the multiple activities that are carried out outdoors or outdoors, having as limitations an infrastructure and the climate's expertise; The proposed proposal is given after a study and investigation of Merchandising, modular processes and the Stand as such. After that, a detailed investigation was carried out of the activities of which the culture unit is part, and after an analysis, determine the design constraints. To complete the proposal was made with all the necessary elements for the constitution of the stand.

From the observation and analysis in the city of Cuenca within the areas of Interior design and architecture, it turns out that there is no permanent space that allows to expose, assess and give the opportunity to know the work as a student proposal and Professional of these activities. The qualification project is based on a study on the characteristics of museums and showrooms, where certain needs arise, the proposal is located within the College of architects of Azuay, a place which is analyzed based on regulations that should Fulfill and where a public space is adapted with a correct distribution for the public adjusting to the necessities. The objective is to contribute to the diffusion and exposure mainly of students and professionals of the branches and preserve in their turn the architectural and documentary patrimony of the buildings that are part of the history of the city of Cuenca

The present project is about making an aesthetic and functional proposal for a hostel in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador in the sector of Totoracocha, the design will be developed within an old industrial warehouse, this theme was selected because the few hostels that They exist within the city of Cuenca do not have a suitable comfort for guests, because one of the characteristics of this type of shops are low costs and therefore the owners do not take into account many aspects for its construction and function. The importance of carrying out this project with ecological materials is to promote new technologies that help the environment or have a low environmental impact, since over the years the waste or impulse consumption of highly harmful materials has affected the climate change of the planet, another important reason is for its target audience, the tourists who stay in hostels are culturally referred to as “backpackers”, these tourists who are between 18 and 30 years old, always promote or seek to get away from the conventional reason why they are always in natural events or that somehow relate to supporting the environment. The solution of the problem of this project will be broken down into three chapters taking into account the methodology of Bruno Munari; Chapter One is purely investigative where the topics of accommodation, tourism and ecological materiality will be analyzed; Chapter Two will aim to make a diagnosis of the building where the proposal will be projected and analyze homologous of hostels already made; Chapter three will create the interior design proposal through an ideation process where materiality, color and lighting will be analyzed all this applied to the concept that the design will have to create a comfortable and aesthetically suitable hostel for the user.

The main objective of this degree research is to provide a new concept to the restaurant bar. The location for the proposal of this project is the Building of the Chamber of Industries of Cuenca. This building is located strategically for tourism. From its 13th floor are visible cultural areas, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. These aspects will help in the vision of the project. The proposal of this project aims at the union between a restaurant and a bar that should offer a suitable environment accompanied by a privileged view to generate new experiences for users. Then, the body of the project contains three chapters; the information gathering, the analysis of the current space, and the design proposal. The methodology used in the information gathering of this project has its bases on general theoretical research about aspects related to interior design, regulations, ergonomics, lighting, among others. The chapter of the analysis of the current space reveals the place meant for the proposal. This analysis requires a planimetric survey. This survey determines the existing problem and what the needings. Also, it includes an investigation of counterparts as a reference for the design. Finally, the elaboration of the design proposal complements the information collected in the first and second chapters. The design proposal is based on the design concept that generates a proposal that can be appreciated through virtual reality images, technical specifications, construction details, furniture, and budget.

The present research work and design process, part of the analysis made within the Museum of the History of Medicine, trying to solve its greatest problem, the lack of visitors, giving it a form of exhibition that captivates a higher number of users. To achieve this, the proposal is based on incorporating the interior design in all the exhibition rooms that the museum has, covering themes of color, lighting, furniture design and distribution. Also including spaces of social interest, recreation areas, exhibition and learning spaces, and places of rest, too. Achieving a warm and attractive space for users, respecting the heritage part of the place and the environment in which the museum is located.

This thesis Project is an interior and espacial design proposal to intervene a vernacular architecture house belonging to Geordano Pesántez, which is located in San José, Chiquintad Parish in Cuenca. This idea meets the need to keep its original design and make it a living space. Once this goal is reached, it will be possible to avoid imminent destruction, as it has happened with other houses with similar features. In order to carry out this project, our goal is to respect its surroundings and the architectural features of the place where it is located. The materials to be used in the intervention will also be suitable for that effect. This project is also a deep research on similar dwellings, an investigation on vernacular constructions, and the analysis of the current situation of Geordano Pesántez´s house. Responding to the expectations of the future dwellers of this house, one fragment of the book Don Quijote de la Mancha has been profoundly read to recall the general concept of the architecture of that time. Along with the blueprints, renders, constructional details and an estimate budget will be given

The present work was based on a design analysis in terms of offices, because in the city of Cuenca this type of environment is not handled, in order to create a design proposal based on open spaces. Due to this, the environment became a shared workpla ce to provide solutions to conflicts that arise in the space, in the same way, companionship between employees was increased, it was possible to easily monitor work performance. This project was based on the study of the offices, raising se veral needs, this proposal is located on Av. April 12, where it was intervened; After knowing all its regulations to develop a correct distribution in the space, providing a comfortable and comfortable environment to each of those who work in this place.

“FUNPRA adult assistance foundation” is a nursing home located in Cañar that offers integral and continuous geriatric care to the elderly in the community. Its objective is to provide quality services and humane treatment to preserve and recover the physical and emotional state of the elderly. They provide personalized attention, individual and group development approaches through the application of recreational activities and personal assistance, oriented to the physical and psychological environment. This project is focused on the development of the 48,23% of the first floor. It lacks spatial distribution, furniture and relevant anthropometry within targeted areas for staff administrative, care staff and for the elderly. These situations cause the insufficient progress of the geriatric center and staff development in general. They have as an objective adapt the spaces oriented for senior citizens. Their mobility is not interrupted and they can move in the center with total autonomy. The project also adapts to the the employees neccesities, promoting a readjustment of administrative, kitchen and dinning room. The staff of this center develop their work successfully because the interior architecture now is adapted to their skills.

The present work consists of developing a design proposal addressed to the Administrative offices of the Faculty of Arts, located in the current Faculty of Engineering, based on the project presented in 2018 by the Physical Planning and Execution Unit of the University of Cuenca. To carry out the present, a theoretical and graphic investigation of the different requirements, regulations, ergonomic and general concepts in work spaces is carried out. In the same way, an analysis of the current state is manifested, to finally generate a proposal under a formal concept; coupling a visual character of weight that transmits sensations to contribute to the psychology and performance of the users within the space.
Rediseño integral de un restaurante de comida típica cuencana. Caso de estudio: restaurante “Las Palmeras”

"Las Palmeras" is a restaurant located in the city of Cuenca in the rural parish of San Joaquín, where the typical food of the city prevails, with a traditional and cozy atmosphere, transporting its customers to the Cuenca tradition, with its peculiar gastronomy, music and events from the area. With this concept, the client will be offered a different experience, where a traditional culture is made known and gets out of the routine. The restaurant bears the name of "Las Palmeras" maintaining its tradition for 23 years because it has managed to save its seasoning; for the quality of the meat, its cut and the constant improvement in food processes, offering typical dishes of the area such as: roasted meat, roast mote, dirty mote, corn, beans with cheese, potatoes with leather, tortillas, etc. However, knowing that Cuenca is a large city full of various attractions and leisure places, such as parks, bars, restaurants, museums, this restaurant has been chosen to intervene, redesign and correct the shortcomings that currently exist in terms of interior and exterior design, structure, distribution, and comfort, so that the restaurant can offer better service and thus give it a better position in the current astronomic market. It is worth mentioning that today it is a place chosen mainly by national and foreign tourists. The largest influx of customers is registered on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The objective is to create a comprehensive redesign of the restaurant based on traditional architecture, to take better advantage of the interior and exterior spaces of the restaurant, with a proposal that manages to harmonize the spaces making them more utilitarian and comfortable for customers.
Rediseño interior con cocina en vivo para el restaurante de comida del mar Los Picantes de Leo ubicado en el centro histórico de la ciudad de Cuenca

The present project is bom thanks to the necessity and problems observed and studied, wich is presented both in the functional and esthetic aspect indise the restaurant “Los Picantes de Leo”. The proposal to this problem is focused on defining a commercial interior design applied to this patrimonial house, taking all the important needs trying to cover them achieving a suitable environment which is suitable for both the staff working in the restaurant and for the people who come to consume their dishes. The project is presented in 3 chapters which adequately distribute the information, starting with the theoretical bases, followed by the diagnosis and analysis of the current state of the restaurant and ending with the proposal in 3D of the Restaurant “Los Picantes de Leo”. It is important to mention that we worked with both clients and staff, who were fundamental for the collection of information for the development of the entire project.

The interior design plan is divided into three parts: theoretical research, diagnosis of the current state plus counterparts and interior design proposal with a specific concept.
