    Criterios bioclimáticos aplicados a los cerramientos verticales y horizontales para la vivienda en Cuenca

    This research has 4 chapters, the first one is about the theory framework also bioclimatic architecture, with concepts and criteria of warming comfort and luminosity, also analyses the weather conditions of Ecuador and the weather conditions of Cuenca city. The second chapter is about the verticals, horizontal fences focusing the study of the building with traditional materials, also explains the living program from we got information and the there are photos of the houses that are around Cuenca. In order to observe the materials use there. In chapter 3rd there is a study about the warming an luminosity comfort, where we present a data collecting about the temperature humidity, and luminosity levels and wind speed in the selected houses. The last chapters about the criteria of bioclimatic throughout the analysis and diagnosis on a selected house, where the mass volume floor roof materials and walls were analyzed , in the data we analyzed cover facts and information for improving the environmental comfort for houses in Cuenca. At the end of this research the results are applied to Pastoral Social en la Arquidiócesis of Cuenca because the analyze house were built by it.

    Estrategias para el cumplimento de estándares de eficiencia energética en edificaciones multifamiliares para la ciudad de Cuenca

    In recent years in Ecuador, energy efficiency in buildings has begun to be more examined, but it is still difficult for construction professionals to incorporate bioclimatic strategies into their projects. The evaluation of building performance can be an initiative to promote sustainability. In the framework of the research project "Method of certification of sustainable housing construction", this study addresses the category "Energy" in order to propose strategies that allow the fulfillment of energy efficiency standards, defined in the evaluation criteria for multifamily housing in the city of Cuenca. The methodology applied is based on analysis of strategies to reduce demand and energy consumption applicable to the local context; analysis of the different types of departments of a case study using tools such as direct observation forms and structured surveys. The validation of the results is done through energy simulations software and the application of energy efficiency criteria. The results show that it is possible to improve energy performance by 41.46% on average and move from a standard practice to a better practice
