Item Frecuencia del trastorno por deficit de atención e hiperactividad en los estudiantes de sexto y séptimo de básica de la Escuela Emilio Abad, de la ciudad de Azogues, en el periodo lectivo 2016-2017(2017) González Sacoto, María Caridad; Villalta Contreras, Carola Maribel; Morocho Malla, Manuel Ismael; Mosquera Vallejo, Lorena ElizabethBackground: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder frequently occurs since childhood, causing a negative impact on different academic, family or social situations; hindering daily life due to the lack of completion of tasks or difficulty in carrying out activities. There are few studies in our locality, therefore the need for this research. General Objective: To determine the frequency of ADHD in the sixth and seventh basic students of the basic education school "Emilio Abad", in the city of Azogues, in the academic period 2016-2017. Methodology: We conducted a descriptive and cross-sectional study. The universe was composed by the students on sixth and seventh of basic. Data were collected through the Test Conners of teachers and parents. The data were entered into a database of the Microsoft Excel 2013 program and It analyzed using SPSS version 22.0, the results are represented in tables, according to the objectives of this study. Results: The frequency of ADHD in sixth and seventh grade students is 25.4% (Conners-Maestros) and 15.5% (Conners-Parents). The prevalence of ADHD predominated in boys, both in Conners for teachers and parents, with 26.5% and 15.2% of the total children, respectively. Conclusions: A high prevalence of ADHD is obtained due to the subjectivity of the Conners test for parents and teachers, these should be complemented with clinical diagnostic criteria
