Chronic gastritis is a prevalent disease caused by factors such as Helicobacter pylori infection, inadequate diet, excessive alcohol and tobacco consumption, and stress. These factors compromise the gastric mucosa, affecting patients' quality of life. This study aims to determine the risk factors associated with chronic gastritis in patients aged 30 to 45 who attended the Cumbe Health Center between November 2022 and March 2023. A quantitative approach was used, collecting data through surveys and clinical record analysis to identify factors such as H. pylori infection, the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), alcohol and tobacco consumption, and family history. Among the results, 55.8% of participants were male, and 65.6% were married. Of the participants, 46.7% had primary education and 39.6% had secondary education. A total of 81.5% were diagnosed with chronic gastritis, and 43.2% had H. pylori infection. High tobacco (61.7%) and alcohol (38.6%) consumption were also observed. The results highlight the need for educational interventions focused on preventing and managing risk factors for chronic gastritis.
