    Currently, the audit is a valuable tool for companies, since it allows the maximum authority with sufficient information and competence to make decisions, which can be met with the goals and objectives set. Being the basis of an economic interpretive base, it is essential for the correction of differences in financial operations carried out by companies, for the reason that it is an objective, systematic and professional examination that evaluates financial statements, records and operations for the examination of the reasonableness of each of the items that are part of them, the current standards of legality and other types of requirements. The present research project applied a financial audit, which was carried out and executed in Lácteos Mayrita; In this process, audit procedures and techniques were applied that comply with current legal regulations in the period subject to examination. The review of the different items that make up the financial statements allowed to determine the reasonableness of each one; resulting in the audit report that also presents comments, conclusions and recommendations, which will allow top management to make sound decisions and follow up on observations issued by professionals.
