    Alteraciones de la calidad del sueño y factores de riesgo asociados en trabajasdores de la empresa Hidropaute de la Ciudad de Cuenca 2014

    Objective: to determine the presence of alterations in the quality of sleep and associated risk factors in workers of the Hidropaute Company in the city of Cuenca, 2014. Material and Methods: this is a descriptive study, which was conducted at the Company Hidropaute. We worked with a sample of 193 workers who expressed their desire to participate in it and signed the consent. As a technique for data collection we used the Questionnaire Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and a form with objective questions which groups the variables, the questionnaire used was developed by the authors; for data analysis was used the descriptive statistics and the prevalence ratio with the value of chi square and p value on the statistical significance was used; we developed a database using the SPSS and Excel and Word programs tables that group the variables with their statistical analysis. Results: the study analyzed the results of the Questionnaire of Pittsburgh and found that 57.5% had no sleep problems (good sleepers) and 42.5% of workers have trouble sleeping (poor sleepers), including 35 8% between age of 25 to 45 years; 28.5% of married employees, 39.4% of men, 31.1% of those living in urban areas, 19.7 of those with a disease, 32.6% that work more than 8 hours per day and 34 , 7% that do not work night shifts are poor sleepers. Conclusions: the study allowed us to determine the presence of alterations in sleep quality and associated risk factors in workers at the Hidropaute Company Cuenca, 2014.

    Anticoncepción hormonal y efectos secundarios en mujeres que acuden al subcentro de salud de Sayausí, Cuenca 2012

    Antecedents: the family planning is one of the most important tasks in the special program of investigations in Human Reproduction of the World Organization of the Health (OMS). The use of contraceptives through the history has had vertiginous advance however it is not still exempt of adverse effects. Objective: he was carried out a study on hormonal contraception and secondary effects in women that go to the Subcentro of Health of Sayausí, of the city of Cuenca in the year 2012. Materials and Methods: it's a descriptive study of traverse court that determined the secondary effects in the women that used hormonal contraception and that they went to the Subcentro of Health of Sayausí during the months of June to August of the year 2012. The data were analyzed based on relative frequencies of the variables, for the mensuration of the risk the relative risk was used with Intervals of trust for 95%, and it stops statistical significancia the value of p. Outcomes: The age stocking was located in 27,55 years with a DS 6,44 years old 42,4% it used injectable contraceptives, 33,5 oral% and 24,1% it implants; the secondary effects presented the following distribution: alterations of the one bled menstrual: 44,1%; migraine: 51,2%; it nauseates 29,4%; I Get dizzy 32,4%; alteration of the pattern menstrual 42,9%; bled uncommon 24,7%; amenorrhoea 18,8%; mastalgia 11,8%; galactorrea 1,2%; HTA 6,5%; cloasma 28,2%; varixes 10,8%; acne 19,4%; ITU 42,9% and other 12,9%. When analyzing the risk and the association between the oral contraceptives and the secondary effects he/she was only association between injectable contraception and HTA and the use of it implants and the amenorrhoea presentation.

    Aplicación de los patrones funcionales en los estudiantes de la Carrera de Enfermería, Cuenca 2015

    GENERAL BACKGROUND. The functional nursing assessment is a key for any nurse intervention; the functional patterns of Marjory Gordon allows us to obtain relevant information about various aspects that mould the person as a whole being. OBJECTIVE. Apply the functional patterns to the students pursuing a degree in nursing at the University of Cuenca, 2015 METHODOLOGY. This is a qualitative research, and the technique used, interview six focal groups of students from the undergraduate nursing course at the University of Cuenca, for their respective analysis that includes aspects of the person and their environment. The 11 Functional Patterns were considered as categories. RESULTS. There are patterns that are influential in student life such as health perception and management, though nursing students are innovated about how to stay healthy, they do not put it into practice and are affected in their physical and emotional health; in the cognitive - perceptual there are visual problems, memory changes, hesitation, they have difficulty in the decision making process and learning problems in the career; and the role patter - relationships where students leave their families for their studies, many are lonely and not integrated; at intership there is a bad employment situation. CONCLUSIONS. This research allowed us to apply the functional patterns of Marjory Gordon on the nursing students, describing various aspects that are part of a person and make it a unique, comprehensive, holistic being.

    To apply to preventive measures in cases of parasitism of children and children of the School Bad Joaquin Tamaríz of the Community of San Miguel de Putuzhí pertaining to the Parish of Sayausí of the canton Cuenca. A study of educative intervention was realized, the universe was constituted by 300 registered scholastic children in school year 2010-2011 of this institution. For the information harvesting the interview, the application of a questionnaire previously approved was used to obtain data on the variables: hygienic age, sex, habits and type of parasites. The investigation allowed to determine the frequency and percentage of childrens and mothers us, distributed by: age, sex, schooling, occupation, in those who one evaluated knowledge on the parasitism, measures of prevention, food manipulation. With the application of the preventive measures to 180 students and 90 mothers of the School “Joaquin Malo Tamaríz”, will stimulate itself so that the people of the community can prevent diseases applying the correct hygienic measures.

    It is based on the self-care deficit theory, which describes and explains the reasons nurses can assist people. The model shows that when the self-care capacity of the individual is lower than the demand for self-care or therapeutic assistance. The nurse compensates for the causes that can cause this deficit. It focuses on the theory of nursing systems, emphasizing the contents in the educational support, through this system the nurse helps individuals to be able to perform self-care activities, which could not perform without educational support. The education and training was carried out with the mothers who were in the obstetrics service of the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso of the city of Cuenca, who were approached subjects such as: breastfeeding, newborn care and immunizations; Due to its broad and well-structured content, it was possible to clarify doubts and fears, not only in those primidestas mothers; They had a deficit of this knowledge, but also the multigesters, they are helped to reinforce and improve the care for their children.     ABSTRACT APPLICATION OF THE SYSTEM OF NURSING EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT IN PATIENTS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS TYPE 2 WHO GO TO EXTERNAL CONSULTATION OF THE MILITARY HOSPITAL "DR. MAYOR ALBERTO ALVARADO C. "CUENCA. 2011 Objective. - To apply a program of educational intervention on hygiene, nutrition, exercise and treatment for diabetic patients who go to external consultation of the Military Hospital "Dr. Mayor Alberto Alvarado C." Cuenca. Material and methods.- This is a longitudinal descriptive study, measured and practical knowledge about nutrition, hygiene, exercise and treatment to 50 patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 was applied to an educational support program in a period of four months. Results. - The 52% of users are female. 70% live in an urban area of the city. The most frequent occupations were housework (32%), farmers (16%) and independent professionals (16%). 60% had primary education and 25%had secondary education. 52% of the population had incomes between USD 200 to 300 and 18% had incomes of over USD 400. 54% eat 3 to 4 times a day and 42% between 5 to 6 times. Rice, eggs and cheese were the most consumed food. 92% of the population takes a bath every day but, the foot care only 44% remains as a habit. 28% lubricates the feet as part of care. 92% of diabetics use oral hypoglycemic agents and 28% insulin. 96% of patients monitored blood sugar in the morning. Conclusion .- The educational support offered by the nurse to the patient with diabetes mellitus type 2 is an effective measure to improve nutrition, therapy and body care keeping a better lifestyle.     Aplicación del sistema de enfermería de apoyo educacional para las madres lactantes del servicio de maternidad del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. Cuenca 2010

    Objective.- This study applies to the nursing educational support to nursing mothers from the maternity service at the Hospital Regional "Vicente Corral Moscoso." Material and Methods .- We conducted a quasi-experimental study for nursing mothers from the maternity area in a period between January to March 2010. The sample taken was 300 hospitalized women; the data was collected through interviews and an application of a pre and post test to nursing mothers who met specific criteria and signed their consent to participate in the research. Results: The pre-test showed that 158 (52.67%) mothers have a regular nursing knowledge by personal experiences or family. In 97 women (32.33%) there was a lack of knowledge about breastfeeding; this group includes: teenagers, primiparous, illiterate, etc. Finally 45 (15%) are women who have a successful breastfeeding (multiparous, professionals and mothers who acquire information in the operational units). After surgery (post-test) was found that 288 (96%) women receive comprehensive information on what a successful breastfeeding is. It was also shown that 6 women (2%) have knowledge of breastfeeding on a regular basis and are women who do not believe in some of the benefits; and 6 (2%) women represents an unsuccessful test , they are mothers who have no interest and their beliefs do not allow them to obtain breast milk. Conclusion: Breastfeeding is an important factor to support personality development and has psychological, economic, immunological, anti-infectious, physiological and nutrition benefits for the child, the mother, family and the country in general.

    Objective .- was applied partly compensatory nursing system and educational support in users with preterm labor service Maternity Hospital Regional "Vicente Corral Moscoso in the months March and May 2010. Methods and materials .- A study of educational intervention to mothers in maternity a period between March and May 2010. The sample consisted of 40 women found to impending childbirth Preterm and were hospitalized in the maternity ward. The data collection was conducted by interviewing the mothers who signed their consent to participate in this research. Results: Mothers who had preterm labor and were treated in a timely manner had no further complications to the time of delivery, education was provided according to the promotion and prevention of preterm delivery, looking for signs and symptoms leading to immediate attention and in turn promote better growth, fetal development and health of the mother. According to surveys showed that a large number of people who know about this subject, such as signs, symptoms and factors are presented. Conclusion: In the area of maternity Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital, were given adequate information and education to mothers who have this disease, using the same help to reduce risk factors that increase APP

    Automedicación en comerciantes minoristas de la Asociación Hermano Miguel del mercado “El Arenal”, Cuenca, 2017

    BACKGROUND: according to the World Health Organization (WHO), responsible self-medication is the rational use of medicines which are approved and available without prescription. On the other hand, self-prescription refers to any conduct that aims to obtain medicaments without medical prescription given by a doctor or health expert, thereby resulting in the abusive use of said medicaments1. OBJECTIVE: this research aims to determine the causes for self-medication present in the retailer merchants that belong to the “Hermano Miguel” association of the “El Arenal” marketplace, Cuenca, 2017. METHODOLOGY: this is a descriptive cross-sectional study. The participants involved were 200 retailer merchants. Surveys were used as the technique for gathering information; all participants were informed in advance and consented to this. The instrument that the authors used was a form they validated in advance. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and presented in tables with their respective descriptive analyzes. This research followed the ethical standards of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. RESULTS: out of the 200 people who participated in the survey, 118 (59,00%) self-medicate. Women make up the largest portion out of the participants who self-medicate, making up for the 41,50% of the total of participants. The age range for people who self-medicate the most goes from 20 to 39 years old, which makes up for the 30.50% of participants. The medicaments that were used most commonly by participants were analgesics and anti-inflammatories. Headaches were the most common symptom leading to self-medication, with an outstanding 29,00%. Finally, 81,35% of the participants bought said medication at pharmacies. CONCLUSIONS: The most common reason for self-medication was having had a previous prescription for symptoms they were familiar with

    Autonomía funcional, psíquica y elaboración de diagnósticos de enfermería con la taxonomía nanda en los adultos mayores del Centro Geriátrico Santa Ana. Cuenca, 2014.

    Objective. To determine the functional, psychological autonomy and develop nursing diagnoses in the NANDA taxonomy seniors Geriatric Center Santa Ana. Cuenca, 2014. Methodology. It is a descriptive research quantitative. We work with a finite universe of adults over 38, which is 100% of the nursing home, more revenue in the next 4 months of research. Katz Index, Tinetti scale for functional assessment, cognitive assessment MMSE scale Pfeiffer and Yesavage psychic valuation was used. Then a diagnosis with the NANDA taxonomy was developed. The data were processed and analyzed in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Version 21 SPS, and format PLACE NANDA, NOC-NIC. Results: 34.2% belongs to ages between 86 and 95 years, this 18.4% men and 15.8% women, 31.6% are aged 66 to 75 years, this the 13.2% men and 18.4% women, sex is a total of 60.5% women and 39.5% men. The Katz index indicates that 65.8% do their core activities, so they are independent. The modified Tinetti scale indicates that 39,5% of older adults has a good performance in terms of balance and gait resulting in a low risk of falling. The scale of Pfeiffer and cognitive test (MMSE) shows that 76.3% have cognitive deficits. The scale of Yesavage depression indicates that 42,1% have depression. The results helped to develop nursing diagnosis taxonomy NANDA NIC-NOC include: impaired ambulation, physical mobility and memory, of self-care: feeding, elimination and hygiene. Conclusions. Functional and psychological impairment was determined in older adults allowing developing nursing diagnoses with the NANDA taxonomy - NOC - NIC Keywords.
