    Impactos biológicos, psicológicos y sociales del embarazo en las adolescentes que acuden al Hospital Miserior perteneciente al Cantón Gualaquiza. 2014

    Background: Adolescence is a stage of life that involves physical and psychosocial changes; the prevalence of pregnancy at this stage is high. Objective: To identify biological, psychological and social impact of teen pregnancy attending the Misereor Gualaquiza Hospital belonging to the Canton Gualaquiza 2014. Methods: The qualitative and quantitative research is the descriptive type of study is the universe consisted of 88 pregnant adolescents who attended the Canton Hospital Gualaquiza Misereor. The quantitative research techniques were interview, document review and qualitative focus group 30 participants, the instruments were registration form, interview, and focus group. Results: In this study we report the biological, psychological and social impacts 86.4 % of pregnancies were between the ages of 16 to 19 years, the predisposing factors were: unprotected sex 80.7 % , 10.2 % sexual abuse , lack of information sexuality 54.5 % 26.1 % early menarche , Home early Active sex Life 5.7 % ; Social impacts were that 30.7% of pregnant teenagers left school , 34.1 % were housewives, the most common biological impacts Urinary Tract Infections in the mother 58 % and 23.9 % underweight children ; the psychological impact , 37.5 had low self-esteem, 48.9 % of the pregnancy was unwanted. Conclusions: Adolescent pregnancy produces social impacts as school dropouts, low income, biologics impacts as Urinary Tract Infections, and bleeding, psychological impacts such as low self-esteem.
