    Prevalencia y tipo de anticoncepción post-parto inmediato en puérperas del Hospital Moreno Vázquez. año 2018. Gualaceo

    Introduction: The puerperal period is a set of physiological and psychological changes within 40 days after childbirth, which requires a main focus on the sexual and reproductive health of women with the proposal to prevent or delay pregnancies, for this purpose knowledge about planning Family is essential. Objective: Determine the prevalence and type of immediate postpartum contraception in postpartum patients of the Moreno Vázquez Hospital of Gualaceo town during the year 2018. Material and methods: An observational, analytical, cross-sectional and retrospective study was carried out, with 411 clinical records of postpartum women treated at Moreno Vázquez Hospital during 2018, of these 86 received contraception in the immediate postpartum period. Subsequently, the association relationship between postpartum contraception with age under 19 years, level of education under 6 years, single marital status and the reception or not of family planning counseling were studied. The data obtained were processed in the SPSS version 25 program and their results were presented with simple and compound tables; Analytical statistics were studied with chi2 value, confidence interval and p value. Results: The prevalence of immediate postpartum contraception was 20.9% (86), the most commonly used method was tubal ligation 61.6% (53) followed by 25.6% subdermal implant (22). Women under 20 years chose the subdermal implant, compared to those 20 years or older showed greater inclination towards surgical sterilization. The variables of association age (p = 0.007), level of instruction (p = 0.004) and family planning counseling (p = 0.005) had statistical significance; while the marital status had no statistical significance (p = 0.06) Conclusion: Contraception in the immediate puerperium in this health home is still low compared to WHO standards that recommend between 65-85%.
