    La regulación de RAEE en Cuenca. Propuesta normativa

    The research was carried out with the purpose of developing a proposal for an ordinance with a scope of action in the canton of Cuenca, which regulates the actors and their responsibilities within the framework of the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment - WEEE - for its respective delivery and socialization to the Municipal Public Company of Waste Management of Cuenca EMAC EP. Currently, there is a local regulation issued for solid waste management; however, something specific for WEEE management has not been developed. The research was important because through the creation of a municipal ordinance for the management of WEEE waste, it is possible to promote the circular economy and contribute to the control of environmental pollution. A qualitative approach of descriptive, historical-legal and comparative analysis method was used, whose data collection techniques were carried out through a documentary review, and therefore, it was not necessary to select any type of sample. The findings found in the research have a significant contribution, since, through the established regulations, it is possible to manage waste electrical and electronic equipment generated by users within the canton Cuenca, therefore, it is concluded that the implementation of the ordinance serves as a tool to control environmental pollution in the canton Cuenca, promoting the circular economy and promoting awareness of the importance of proper management of these wastes in the community.
