Item Erosión dental en niños asociada a COVID-19. Reporte de caso(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-10-18) Valverde Arévalo, Camila Alejandra; Lozano Idrovo, Fernanda Lisseth; Cárdenas Vidal, Fernanda de LourdesDental erosion or wear is a non-carious lesion whose incidence has been increasing drastically in recent years in children and adolescents as a result of a greater intake of foods with a high acid content (carbonated beverages). The consumption of products and supplements rich in vitamin C in the last two years have added to these acid supplies as part of a healthy diet for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. Due to their low pH and their high frequency of intake, these foods affect dental demineralization. The following article describes a case report of a pediatric patient of 8 years and 10 months of age, who presented dental erosion in 13 of his 14 deciduous teeth, for the diagnosis the observational method based on the Smith TWI index was used. and Knight, locating the affected dental surfaces, for the treatment a conventional prevention intervention plan and the minimally invasive one was used, obtaining positive results in terms of functionality, aesthetics and patient selfesteem.
