    Evaluación del cumplimiento de las normas de bioseguridad implementadas frente a la pandemia por SARS-COV-2 en el personal de los laboratorios clínicos de los Centros de Salud de la ciudad de Cuenca, 2021

    Background: In December 2019, in Wuhan, China. Several people appeared with a diagnosis of pneumonia with unknown etiology was reported. After several studies, the name SARS-CoV-2 was given to the virus that causes the disease COVID-19. In January 2020, the first cases were reported in America and three months later the World Health Organization declared a pandemic due to the large number of cases reported worldwide, was unknown, so cases of post-Covid-19 Objective: To determine compliance with biosafety standards implemented against the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in clinical laboratory personnel of the Health Centers of the city of Cuenca, 2021. Methodology: The current study was descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional. Its universe was made up of the personnel who work in the Clinical Laboratories of the 18 Health Centers of the Ministry of Public Health in Cuenca city during 2021. A sample that was proactive at convenience, made up of all the personnel that works in them. For the data analysis, quantitative variables used simple tables with frequency and percentage using the SPSS software. Results: According to the data obtained, a total of 86, the use of the eye protector as the most used personal protective equipment registered a 53.5%, 81.4% used the surgical cap. 86.0% evidenced correct handwashing with a duration of 60 seconds. 81.4% stated that they carried out disinfection processes. 72.1% did not perform the autoclaving of Covid-19 sample waste.
