Item Digitalización aplicada en prótesis dental: revisión sistemática de la literatura”(2019-05-10) Valdiviezo Zhunio, Claudia Pamela; Abad Coronel, Cristian GustavoCAD / CAM systems is the acronym of computer aided design / computer aided manufacturing, whose translation into Spanish means computer-aided design / computer-aided manufacturing, was introduced in dentistry with the aim of automating production and standardizing the quality of dental restorations; Intraoral scanners began to be used in the field of prosthodontics in the early 1980s through the concept of intraoral digital impressions. This got the integral attention of the dentists and has been used for the manufacture of dental prostheses in several cases. It is expected that the use of these scanners in the digital printing technique will generate an absolute digitalization in prosthodontics. Furthermore, some published articles have indicated that dental prostheses made from intraoral digital impressions have shown remarkable advantages over conventional impressions in several aspects. Methodology: This systematic review used the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items of Systematic reviews and Meta-analysis) guide to ensure the quality of the information included. To do this, the checklist of items included in said guide was handled. The PICO system was also used. Conclusions: the optical impressions reduce the patient's discomfort; they are efficient over time and simplify clinical procedures, allow better communication with the dental technician and with patients; however, with IOS, it can be difficult to detect deep margin lines on prepared teeth or in case of gingival bleeding.Item El electroencefalograma en odontología(2019) Valdiviezo Zhunio, Claudia PamelaEl electroencefalograma es una herramienta The electroencephalogram is a diagnostic tool that collects and evaluates brain electrical activity through electrodes; Its clinical application is usually directed to the field of medicine, but in dentistry it allows to evaluate pathologies associated with parafunctional habits such as bruxism, sleep disorders and allows associating masticatory functions with certain cerebral functions. The present article makes a search of the literature in order to determine the current use of this diagnostic system in dentistry and its future perspectives.Item El electroencefalograma en odontología(Universidad de Cuenca, 2019) Naranjo Yépez, María Belén; Valdiviezo Zhunio, Claudia Pamela; Bravo Torres, Wilson DanielEl electroencefalograma es una herramienta The electroencephalogram is a diagnostic tool that collects and evaluates brain electrical activity through electrodes; Its clínica! application is usually directed to the field of medicine, but in dentistry it allows to evalúate pathologies associated with parafunctional habits such as bruxism, sleep disorders and allows associating masticatory functions with certain cerebral functions. Execution of this plan begins with the dental preparations and the impressions to obtain the working models. New technologies to design and machine fixed prosthesis are giving way to a higher frequency of digital impressions through intraoral scanners (IOS). It is expected that the use of these scanners generates an absolute digitalization in the fixed prosthodontics protocol. This review of the literature aims to provide knowledge by collecting the findings of several studies on dental prostheses manufactured from intraoral digital impressions. Likewise, it aims to describe the different IOS systems used; in addition to its advantages and disadvantages over conventional impressions for the manufacture of prosthetic restorations. The results of this review provide data on each of the systems currently available. The possibilities of use in the realization of partial restorations, crowns and bridges are viable using impressions by intraoral scanners.
