Item Calidad de vida en usuarios/as con diabetes mellitus tipo 2, centro de Salud el Valle, Cuenca 2021(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-10-11) Uzhca Uzhca, Cinthya Fernanda; Siguencia Siguencia, Adriana Fernanda; Sánchez Campoverde, Diana EstherBACKGROUND: according to the World Health organization (WHO), and the Pan-American health organization (PAHO), type 2 diabetes mellitus is a common pathology. It represents approximately 85% to 90% of the overall cases. In fact, it has become a public health problem, due to complications, the treatment that this often involves, the side effects of these can be factors that impact the quality of life of users. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: determine the quality of life of people living with type 2 diabetes mellitus at “El Valle” Health Center, Cuenca, 2021. METHODOLOGY: a study with a quantitative approach of a descriptive cross-sectional type was carried out. The Diabetes Quality of Life (DQOL) questionnaire was applied to the population. The data were analyzed using the SPSS version 22 system and Microsoft Excel. The results are presented using tables. RESULTS: the study population consisted of 65.91% of female users, 53.79% of elderly adults, 95.45% of the El Valle parish, 62.12% are married and 42.42% work, the most accentuated comorbidity was hypertension with 32.58%, 46.97% present a socioeconomic level C- (Medium low), 97.73% of the patients present a medium quality of life. CONSLUSION: the study shows that the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who attend the “El Valle” Health Center is average. On the other hand, quality of life was statistically related to provenance (p = 0.015) and marital status (p=0.050).
