Intervención interiorista en la vivienda de la Familia Chiriboga, para personas con discapacidad motora. Santa Isabel - Azuay - Ecuador
(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Artes, 2026-02-24) Ullaguari Chiriboga, Fernanda Elizabeth; Sagbay Jaramillo, Edgar Geovanny
The Chiriboga Family Home, in the Santa Isabel district, is a place where a person diagnosed with paraplegia lives with their family. The space lacks a design focused on facilitating activities in areas of daily use, so this proposal aims to redesign the different areas of the home, based on an analysis of the spaces and the needs of both the user and the environment. The interior design intervention considers both form and function, incorporating a modern contemporary style characterized by simplicity and fluidity in the space, brought into the contemporary era as a more flexible design, a color palette in neutral tones with accents of color, and functional solutions based on theoretical aspects such as universal design, adapted furniture, and the ergonomics of wheelchair users. The aim is to create a residential environment that promotes quality of life and independence for people with disabilities and those who live in the home.
