(2019-12-03) Rodas Méndez, Nelly Eugenia; Trownsell, Tamara Ann

La obra precolombina de la cultura Palta desde la filosofía Andina: propuesta ‘estética’ de armonización dinámica
(2016-07-15) Caraguay Córdova, Favio Daniel; Trownsell, Tamara Ann
Focused on a re-orientation toward pre-Columbian art, this philosophical-symbolic-artistic study seeks to contribute with new ways of generating art through Andean sacred geometry present among the artistic productions of the first nations of the Abya Yala. This art form emphasizes the interrelation and interaction among all forms of life – both visible and energetic – and the search for dynamic equilibrium that heals and harmonizes existence in the Earth-cosmos, which together form the basis of this philosophy. In light of this situation, this project examines pre-Columbian works of art from the Palta culture through an Andean philosophical lens to understand the interrelation between the human being and all other beings through a conceptual framework based on Andean principles. These artifacts are also analized historically as well as through case studies focused on geometric and semiotic analysis of pre-Columbian Andean design. The foundations established in this study can foster artistic proposals that encourage harmonic compositions and a state of consciousness that allows us to materialize interrelation and dynamic harmony with the whole.
