    Incidencia de glaucoma crónico simple en los profesores de la Universidad de Cuenca, 2003

    Descriptive study in fifty professors from the University of Cuenca, which was subjected to an examination of frequency doubling technology (FDT) in the "Mount Sinai" Hospital with increasing age to 40 years. In the forms, personal data and eye exams that indicate the presence or absence of glaucoma were collected. In patients with impaired eye exam FDT study they were supplemented with perimetry. hypertension and diabetes, the same that are associated with this eye disease: risk factors such as family pathologies associated with glaucoma and personal history was determined. It was determined that teachers FDT positive test, most are fluctuating between the ages of 55-74 years, with 100 cases. Also, this group of teachers have a history of eye astigmatism, myopia and presbyopia. Among the symptoms presented, in the group of teachers FDT Positive, most of these notice burning and sore eyes (6), red eyes (4), decreased peripheral vision and visual acuity (3 respectively ) In examining perimetry, 5 teachers have altered positive FDT visual field
