    Frecuencia de staphylococcus aureus meticilin resistente en la flora nasofaringea del personal médico del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso en el año 2013

    Background: The infections caused by the Methycillin–resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) are a public health´s issue in different regions due to various factors, being the medical personnel potential hosts. General Objective: Determine the frecuency of the Methycillin–resistant Staphylococcus aureus in the Nasopharynx human microbiota, of the medical personnel at the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso in 2013. Methodology: Descriptive investigation, surveyed thorough 120 physicians from the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso (HVCM), For data collection the samples taken from the nasal cavity were collected, with the help the sterile cotton swabs, wet in physiological saline; data were entered in a database in SPSS for Windows program and the results were presented in simple tables, percentages, prevalence ratio, chi square and p-value was obtained for statistical significance Results: Average age was estimated at 30,70 years old with a standard deviation of 4,64 years. Male was the frequent genre at 58,3 %. 63,30 of medical cases were residents. 74,20 % worked more than 8 hours a day. 55% has worked between 1 and 3 years at the hospital and 24,20 % of the participants worked at the gynecologic area. Frequency of the Methycillin–resistant Staphylococcus aureus host percentage was of 30% and the Methycillin–resistant Staphylococcus aureus at 36,10 %. Conclusions: The frequency of host of Staphylococcus aureus is high at 30 %. With MRSA at 36,1% generating potential risk to patients of our services.
