Uso de redes sociales Twitter y Tik Tok por periodistas cuencanos
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-11-06) Toledo Tapia, Blanca Margarita; Beltrán Romero, Juan Francisco
The present thesis focuses on the analysis of usage among seven journalists from the city of Cuenca on the social media platforms Twitter and TikTok. Observing, analyzing, and concluding on the predominant themes in the posts, the specific elements of each platform that are most utilized, the posts that garnered the highest interaction, the multimedia elements and resources that have the most impact and capture users' attention, the localities that are most reported on and consumed. In addition to listing the advantages and disadvantages of the appropriate use of these spaces, recommendations are provided for the proper use of each aforementioned social media platform. The significance of this work lies in the fact that these spaces (Twitter and TikTok social media platforms) have become an important means of communication, as they host a large portion of audiences, both new and those who have migrated from traditional media (radio, press, television) and have chosen to gather information through social media. This is due to the ease of access, immediacy, and bidirectionality of content. This study is also important as it includes interviews with social media strategists and journalists from Cuenca of different ages who have an active presence on these platforms. They, based on their experience and study, share their knowledge.
