    Good oral hygiene is key to good health and plays a key role in improving the quality of life. Young adults comprise an age group of importance, because the impact they may have on their behaviors will intervene in the development of lifestyles. The level of oral health practice was demonstrated in the students of Jurisprudence (careers: Law and Family Orientation), Hospitality (careers: Gastronomy, Hospitality and Tourism), Arts (careers: Music Instruction, Visual Arts, Dance and Theater); Of the University of Cuenca, with the H.U-DBI Index. As a result of the index an average of 6.41, which means regular, in addition there were significant differences in age, the range between 17-21 years averaged 6.55, while the second group of 22 -46 years was 6.22, according to gender the women obtained an average of 6.54, compared with an average of 6.25 of the men, in the same way the group of the first years of study obtained 6.54 While the group of the last years was 6.29, there was no statistically significant difference between residence, faculties and race. Objectives: To determine the H.U-DBI Index in the faculties surveyed.
