    Prevalencia del estrés laboral en trabajadores de la salud del primer nivel de atención que laboran en el Centro de Salud Tipo C Nabón y sus manifestaciones clínicas presentes en los últimos seis meses

    Health workers have been considered a risk group for work stress because of the regular contact with patient`s illnes. The main purpose of this investigation is to identify the work stress prevalence on first line of care health workers` who work in CENTRO DE SALUD TIPO C NABÓN, and their clinical signs present in the last six months. Two questionnaires were administered according to the Demand – Control Model (Karasek) and Effort- Reward imbalance Model (Siegrist), to sixty health centre employees, and their clinical manifestations were verified on their medical record. According to Karasek Model there is not a high risk of work stress at Nabon health workers, but, the dimensions with relevant values are: psychological demands, physical demands and job uncertainty, which can generate symptoms for work stress. According to the Siegrist Model, with values bellow to 1 on all of the Nabon employees, not pathological for work stress, but, the higher levels to mean value (12) in the scale of overimvolvement and extrinsic effort may cause work stress on health workers.

    Prevalencia y factores asociados al uso de redes sociales de internet por adolescentes de colegios, Cuenca 2012

    Objective: To determine the prevalence and factors associated to the use of social networking sites by high school teenagers, Cuenca 2012. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive quantitative study, the sample was obtained using the Epi Info program with a population of 50.150 (N = 50.150) adolescent students in the urban area of the city of Cuenca. For the calculation we used the 13.9% expected frequency, a worst acceptable 16.0% with a confidence level of 95% (n=1021). It was added 10% of possible losses (102), which means that the total sample was 1,123 students (n = 1,123), belonging to 63 high schools in the city of Cuenca, the participants were chosen at random by applying the program EPIDAT, version 3.1 . The collection data instrument used was a previously validated questionnaire. The results were processed in SPSS program, version 15.00 Evaluation. Results: The prevalence of social networks use in students from high schools in the city of Cuenca is 96.5%; 95.9% in women and 97.18% in men. Conclusions: In the students holding social networks, the associated situations that took a higher influence over the use of social networks of internet were for find and communicate with friends, for communicate with their relatives abroad.
