The present investigation focuses on the subject of sports psychology and sports performance of children; The main objective is to determine the degree of anxiety and sports influence of parents coaches before and after a competition in athletes of the basketball school Sor Teresa Valsé, located in the city of Cuenca, province of Azuay, Ecuador. The methodological design corresponds to the quantitative investigation of descriptive scope with application of the Sport Anxiety Scale test (SAS-2) in its Spanish version by Ramis, Torregrosa, Viladrich and Cruz (2010) to assess the state of anxiety before and after a competition; and the Sport Climate Questionnaire test (SCQ) by Balaguer, Castillo, Duda, and Tomás (2009) to assess the degree of influence of parents and coaches in the state of anxiety before and after the competition. The study sample was composed of 60 female athletes, ranging in age from 8 years to 14 years of age, divided into four categories (Sub 10, Sub 12, Sub 14 and Infant category). Among the most important discoveries, the general results before and after the competition showed a predominance of the scale of concern in most of the pre-competition categories and an increase in values in the post-competition somatic scale; moreover, it highlights high levels of support from parents that contribute to the motivation of athletes.
