Correlación de la monitorización biespectral y escala de Ramsay durante sedación en pacientes sometidos a legrado uterino instrumental Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga. Cuenca. 2017
(2019) Tenorio Poma, Francisco Xavier; Espinoza León, Juan Carlos; Morales Sanmartín, Jaime Rodrigo
Introduction: Achieving unconsciousness, amnesia, analgesia, autonomic control and immobility are the objectives of sedation. Many patients have treated with this technique, the memory of the events during the anesthetic act, which can cause hostile effects of psychological type and legal medical problems for the problem. Objective: To correlate the degree of anesthetic depth represented in the bispectral index (BIS) and the Ramsay scale in instrumental uterine curettage in the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital in the city of Cuenca from January to December 2017. Materials and Methods: Correlational study where the BIS and Ramsay scale was compared by measures of blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation. The sample was calculated for correlational studies with the following criteria: r 0.3, value z1-a 95%, value z1-b 0.84, with losses of 15% with a sample of 79 patients. Results: the mean age was 31.6 with a DS 6.52. 82.5% did not present cognitive recovery. Regarding the duration of the surgery, all the patients had surgery less than 40 minutes, with an average of 25.68 SD 3.75. There was a difference between the means of the initial heart rate in the anesthetic depth in favor of Ramsay, that is to say, they reached sedation 2 and 3. There was no statistical difference between overweight and the BIS scale. A moderate Rho Rho correlation was obtained for the initial sedation, high (Rho 0.7) for the transoperative and low (Rho 0.26) for the final one. Conclusions: the correlation in the initial phase of anesthesia is high between Ramsay and BIS.
