Item Aplicación de la Metodología Heritage Building Information Modeling para la conservación patrimonial de la “Casa Vélez”, Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-07-31) Marca Piña, Aníbal Isaías; Tenezaca Avila, Miguel Eduardo; Valdez Apolo, Francisco ElíasConservation, restoration, and control of heritage buildings require several disciplines working together, involving architects, engineers, designers, archaeologists and many others. This approach allows a comprehensive analysis of the building, producing precise studies and documentation for future consultations and decision-making processes during interventions. Currently, documentation presents serious incompatibilities due to weak collaboration between different work teams. These incompatibilities start with incorrect data collection practices, resulting in inaccurate and incomplete information. This issue is prevalent in conservation projects in the south of Ecuador, where traditional methodologies such as the use of hose levels, measuring tapes, and CAD software dominate, alongside insufficient knowledge of BIM software and methodologies. The Building Information Modeling methodology enables the integration of graphical information and alphanumeric data into a single working platform, overcoming interoperability issues. This thesis aims to implement the Heritage Building Information Modeling methodology in a heritage conservation project by developing a virtual model of the "Casa Vélez" in Cuenca. The research will adopt a qualitative and quantitative approach, framed within the conservation of built heritage. The collected data will be processed and converted into information stored in a single digital file, which will include a 3D model and cloud data. In this way, the building will be documented accurately, demonstrating that the HBIM methodology is applicable in academic projects and also in the public and private sector.
