    The social network Twitter gives its inception in 2006, its original language was English, its main function is to create 140 character texts to present information within a company, but over time this tool was evolved into the largest network of acceptance and support for digital journalism. Journalism is helping current technological tools like Twitter to provide news or events that are generated within the local area, national and international level. Local newspapers such as El Tiempo and El Mercurio had its beginnings to the digital age while both media have their electronic versions which inform Ecuadorian citizens and people living outside the country. Journalists have contributed to knowledge and personal experience in the management of Twitter as essential tools of journalism today, also agree that journalists need the latest technology to get the most out of this social network, own devices facilitates mobile journalistic performance and can tweet from anywhere news events happen.
