    The current competitive environment is quite complex, organizations find themselves immersed in a market where oversupply is already a reality. Companies need to comprehend their environment, and establish strategies according to their economic activity and modern trends that market demands. The management will make decisions that will allow the company to become more competitive regarding parameters such as: costs, quality service, market uptake, profitability, among others. The objective of this document is to suggest a model of inventory management that allows the company to minimize operational costs, and improve the liquidity index through appropriate purchasing management. This study propounds the model application on a SMBs (Small and Medium Businesses): El Acero. This hardware store is a small business in developmentthat always tries to have their products readily available to customers. However, keeping inventories fully stocked has induced lack of liquidity, and because of this, the need to provide a different inventory management system appears. This project was organized through stages. Starting with a diagnosis of the current situation of the company, where both internal and external variables are analyzed. Then, all the needed information was gathered in order to apply the suggested inventory management model. All data acquired was obtained from the system the company uses called, Adviser. In conclusion, with uncertain demand, it is apparent that the inventory management model is the most appropriate model for the company, and the industry it belongs. This allows the enterprise to meet customer requirements, and significantly reduce inventory management costs.
