    Funcionamiento familiar y rendimiento académico en estudiantes de la Carrera de Orientación Familiar de la Universidad de Cuenca en el periodo 2023 - 2024

    The family is made up of a network of affective relationships that is made up of subsystems, undergoing adaptation changes where the norms, rules, limits and hierarchies that function in the family environment are essential, in this way the functionality or dysfunctionality can be evidenced. Within family groups, the factors that influence the academic performance of a young adult are reflected. The objective of this study is to describe family functionality and academic performance in students who are in the stage of young adulthood, of the Family Guidance degree at the University of Cuenca in the period September 2023 - February 2024. The study had a quantitative approach, non-experimental design and descriptive scope; We worked with a population of 122 students belonging to said career. For this study, two instruments were used, the sociodemographic form to collect information on specific student variables such as age, sex, academic year and general average in each cycle and the FF-SIL family functioning perception test. The main results show that the students of the program present a moderately functional relationship with 59.4%. Regarding the elements of the functionality categories, the most affected element is communication in families. Finally, in the description of functionality and academic performance, considering that one of its factors is grades, it was found that it has achieved a good performance equivalent to a 70-80 overall average.
