This project develops his study monograph about the referendum as a mechanism that allows the exercise of direct democracy by citizens. It begins with the conceptualization of Democracy and it’s directly and indirectly bipartition Democracy, which are democratic principles and values for the proper development of a society, the study of Ecuadorian law regarding the mechanisms of direct democracy that recognizes the Constitution of the Republic.
