This research analyzes a well-defined area in San Joaquin under the urban and architectural standards that highlights a vernacular architecture’s study, agriculture, contour stone bunds, and other building elements from this Parish’ landscape. However, the difficulty of this topic has demanded the assistance of experts in certain topics. The methodology in short takes the determination and limitation of specific sectors as samples, resulting in an analysis of general aspects for this Parish and the study of this area which present three precise realities. The first focuses on the area with more urban characteristics, the second is based on the rural permanent conditions showed in the agricultural activities; and the last one exposes the transition among both. For study purposes, these samples are named “Units of Analysis” which address aspects of building settings, land use planning, accessibility, environmental aspects the same as sociocultural and visual aspects. Finally, with a strong basis on the conclusions of this investigation, general recommendations are being developed as a way to react to the continuous loss of cultural values of the country land caused by the ever-growing urban development.
