(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-09-09) Sánchez Banegas, Ana Paula; Tacuri Solano, Katherine Lizbeth; Dávalos Molina, Juana Catalina
This monographic thesis analyzes the potential of art in its various forms as a tool for thedevelopment of cognitive, motor, and social skills, considered as the main dimensions of thehuman being. It is based on the premise that artistic expressions, such as music, plastic art,and performance art, can stimulate these skills, promoting their effective development in theacademic, personal, and social domains. Therefore, this monograph aimed to determine theartistic manifestations for the integral growth of kindergarten children with Autism SpectrumDisorder. For this purpose, documentary research has been carried out; with a descriptive-explanatory scope, which addresses two categories of study: the artistic manifestations andthe integral development of children between 5 and 6 years old with Autism SpectrumDisorder. The findings reveal that art, in its diverse expressions, is an effective strategy toutilize in the kindergarten educational level, creating a space for participation and change thatfosters the holistic development of these children, especially in those areas compromised bythe Autism Spectrum Disorder. In this context, the fundamental role of the teacher isemphasized as an innovative agent, capable of adapting to the particular needs andcharacteristics of each student with Autism Spectrum Disorder, enabling an inclusiveenvironment and facilitating learning through art.
