Background: Nomophobia, known as the «fear of being without a mobile phone», has increased in recent times and has been linked to various challenges that affect mental health and behavior. Objective: To determine the presence and manifestations of nomophobia in medical students at the University of Cuenca 2024. Methods: A quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out. The study population was the tenth cycle students to whom the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q) was applied, with a sample of 86 students. The data will be transcribed into a Microsoft Excel 2019 spreadsheet and processed in the SPSS v.26 statistical software. Descriptive statistics are presented in tables. Results: All students presented nomophobia; The most frequent level of nomophobia was moderate with 68.6% and the average nomophobia score obtained in the sample was 67.48 points (95% CI: 63.72–71.23). Of the total students, 58.1% are women, 73.3% are between 22 and 25 years old (M=24.6; SD=1.67 years), 81.4% are single and 76.7% reside in urban areas. Conclusions: Among medical students of the tenth cycle of Medicine at the University of Cuenca, a higher frequency of a moderate level of nomophobia was found, the majority are between 22 and 25 years old, predominately female, single, and residents of urban areas.
