Item Actitudes y conocimientos en la prescripción de medicamentos a embarazadas por los médicos rurales de la provincia del Azuay en el año 2011(2011) Siguencia Siguenza, Edwin Gabriel; Sisalima Ortiz, Jorge Luis; Solano Calle, Betsy Denisse; Ojeda Orellana, Marco Ribelino; Ojeda Orellana, Marco RibelinoObjective: To assess the attitudes and knowledge in prescribing drugs to pregnant women by rural physicians in province of Azuay in 2011. Method and Materials: A cross-sectional study period from June 2010 through April 2011, we worked with the universe of all rural physicians in province of Azuay they are 122. For the data collection we used a validated questionnaire, the same as used by Baldon Josiane, et al, in Brazil in 2006, the original questionnaire was adapted to be answered by rural physicians. RESULTS: In this study 11 physicians did not participate in the study. On average, 67.75% of participants answered correctly. 6.5% did not feel safe prescribing. The 25.41% chose the wrong option. The Lower success rate corresponded to the requirements of prednisone, levothyroxine, (30.63% each one). The highest success rate occurred with paracetamol (100%). The Cases that produce more doubts were related to the use of prednisone (13.51%) and levothyroxine (18. 92.7%). the source of Information most consulted are books of OB / GYN , 55 physicians (49.55%) consulted those books. and 41 physicians (36.94%) use textbooks of pharmacology. Nobody uses the information provided by pharmaceutical visitors (0%). 34.23% of rural physicians always consult patients in childbearing age the possibility of pregnancy, 54.05% almost always and 11.71% sometimes. Most of rural physicians have appropriate knowledge and attitudes to prescribe drugs to pregnant women. The percentage of indecision and errors are remarkable. This problem might have negative effects in mother or fetus.Item Hallazgos radiológicos de la histerosalpingografía en pacientes con infertilidad atendidas del 2015- 2020 en el Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga. Cuenca 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-11-22) Solano Calle, Betsy Denisse; Domínguez Cambizaca, Ramón PatricioBackground: infertility is a multifactorial phenomenon, with a higher prevalence in women, this pathological condition prevents achieving a pregnancy after 12 months of regular unprotected sexual intercourse. General objective: to describe the radiological findings of the Hysterosalpingography (HSG) in patients with infertility treated at the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital during the period 2015-2020. Methods: observational and cross-sectional study. 310 clinical records of patients diagnosed with infertility who underwent HSG were reviewed. The information was collected in a data form; descriptive statistics were applied for the analysis. Results: 83.5% of patients ranged in age from 21 to 39 years and 83.5% lived in urban areas. It was observed that 7 out of 10 women had secondary infertility; tubal pathology showed a prevalence of 31.3%. Polycystic ovarian syndrome was the most relevant antecedent with 20.3%, followed by abdominal-pelvic surgeries. According to the HSG findings, irregular uterine contours stood out in the uterine cavity in 5.2% and filling defects in 3.9%; on the other hand, in the fallopian tubes, non-permeability towards the peritoneal cavity and difficulty in filling were more frequently identified in 14.2% and 2.6% respectively. Conclusions: secondary infertility was the most common; predominantly tubal pathology. The relevant findings in HSG in utero were irregular uterine contours and filling defect; in the tubes, the non-permeability of the peritoneal cavity and filling defects.
