    It is said that the current situation requires a permanent renewal of the model of education, making it necessary to confirm its quality and thus offer guarantee of adequate human resources training. The aim of this study is to evaluate the teaching function and within that, knowing personnel policies including mechanisms of incorporation, development and support for teachers, which allow qualified faculty at the School of Medicine of the University of Cuenca. Descriptive, cross-sectional study, information was obtained through file review documents, interviews with teachers, principals and students of the institution.
