Item Aplicación del lenguaje enfermero NANDA, NOC, NIC, en las actividades básicas de la vida diaria del adulto/a mayor en el Hogar Cristo Rey. Cuenca. 2014(2015) Pintado Yupa, Doris Priscila; Tapia Peñafiel, Nila Rene; Sinche Rivera, Elisabeth Cecilia; Romero Bravo, Julia EtelvinaBackground: In Ecuador, according to the 2010 census, the population of elderly was of 1,341,664, that corresponding to 9.3% of the Ecuadorian population. The comprehensive care of this group requires an objective assessment of daily activities to promote an optimal nursing care. Objective: To apply the Nurse terminology NANDA, NOC, NIC in the Basic Activities of Daily Living of elderly at “Hogar Cristo Rey”, Cuenca 2014. Method and Materials: A descriptive study that included 82 older adults was conducted. The information was obtained by applying the Functional Rating Scale Barthel of the Ministry of Public Health. With the results a plan of nursing care applying the NANDA, NOC, NIC taxonomy was developed. Results: Of the study population, the 52,44% (n=43) were male and 47,56% (n=39) are female, according to the functional assessment with the Barthel score, only 6,10% (n=5) of older adults have independence, the remaining 93,90% (n=77) depends to some extent on the assistance and relevant nursing care; of these, the largest percentage, 37.80% (n = 31) corresponds to those who have a moderate dependence. Conclusions: Functional assessment daily activities of older adults using a standardized scale enable the development of objectives care plans nursing, using the NANDA, NOC-NIC taxonomy.Item Autocuidado en los usuarios con diagnóstico de hipertensión arterial atendidos en el club de hipertensos del subcentro de salud N° 2 de la parroquia Sinincay. Cuenca-Ecuador 2013.(2014) Mejía Tigre, Rosa Natividad; Paguay Asitimbay, Narcisa de Jesús; Sinche Rivera, Elisabeth CeciliaHypertension has been identified as the “Silent Killer “or as the “epidemic of the century”, as a priority public health issue that involves the entire society, not just the health sector. OMS estimates that in the world this disease affects more than one in three adults aged 25 or older: one billion people. In addition to contributing to this pathology as a cause of heart disease and stroke , which together represent the most important cause of premature death and disability . In this context information, this disease causes each year nearly 9.4 million deaths from heart disease. It also helps to increase the risk of kidney failure and blindness. For hypertension, is considered to be any value in excess of 140 mm Hg systolic and 90 mm Hg diastolic pressure, chronically, and if left untreated, can lead to severe complications such as myocardial infarction, cerebral hemorrhage or thrombosis, which can be avoided if properly controlled. Self-care , meaning care a person gives itself , is critical for treatment success and prevention of complications, leading to an improved quality of life. Objective: A descriptive study was conducted to determine the self-care in users treated in Hypertensive Club of Health Sub-Centre No. 2 Sinincay The population of users treated in club hypertension was 75 , of which counted with the collaboration of 53 people between men and women. Methodology: data collection form 30 structured questions on self-care, they were answered by user’s prior indication and explanation given by the interviewers was applied. For the preparation of statistical analysis (tables and graphs) SPSS 18 and Microsoft Excel 2010 software was used. Results: 53 individuals diagnosed with hypertension, which belong to the Hypertensive Club Health Sub-center No 2 Sinincay were incorporated. Most people, 81.1 % were women. Most individuals are in the age group of 56 to 65 and 66 years and more. The civil status of persons corresponds to married or married and follows in the frequency of widow / widower. Formal instruction is poor with 32.1 % illiteracy, plus 47.2% of incomplete primary. The highest educational level attained is to complete primary. Is added to the above indicate that 56.6 % have economic dependence. The general objective of the research is to determine the access barriers for the early detection of Cervical Cancer in women aged 25 to 64 who attend the Ricaurte Cuenca Health Subcenter 2022-2023. It is a descriptive, quantitative cross-sectional study. We worked with a universe of 154 women. Data were obtained using the BACACE questionnaire. This questionnaire has a Cronbach's alpha of 0.71. The analysis was carried out in the IBM SPSS-28 program, they were transcribed and analyzed. The results were presented by percentages and frequencies and expressed in tables. The results were; Sociodemographic characteristics: age 35-45 years, 46.1% married marital status, 70.1% housewife occupation, 39.6% completed high school, 57.1% urban origin. Regarding the barriers: there was no barrier in the three dimensions; 53% of knowledge with a score greater than 37, 61.7% in culture with a score between 0-33 and 79% of access to health services with a score of 15 or less. In conclusion, the access barriers for the early detection of cervical cancer did not exist in the three dimensions: knowledge, culture and access to health services.Item Body and sexual objectification: perceptions in the shuar indigenous community(2021) Brito Roby, Liliana Alexandra; Jiménez Brito, Doriz Angélica; Sinche Rivera, Elisabeth Cecilia; Angulo Rosero, Aydee NarcisaObjective: To present to the scientific community the voices of the Shuar people, their perceptions about bodies and sexual objectification caused by the influence of the Western World in the context of colonization and globalization. Material and Method: The interpretative research paradigm was used, with a qualitative approach, through in-depth interviews and a focus group. The sample was selected by convenience; 24 people participated: Shuar men and women from the Morona Canton in Ecuador, between the ages of 14 and 60, who had previously signed informed consents. The informants’ responses were recorded, transcribed, processed in Atlas.ti software, and analyzed by the researchers. Results: The Shuar people who participated in the research perceive that their community has been absorbed by the logic of the Western World; they acknowledge the globalized capitalist ideology of consumption and materialism; they perceive that the Shuar female bodies, but also the male ones, have been objectified; that the juvenile mindset focuses more on eroticism and less in biological aspects; they also believe that sexual behaviors have been modified by the influence of pornography, evidenced by the existence of exotic pornography; they believe that prostitution is abundant in the Shuar ethnic group because it offers an economic opportunity and is mostly voluntary; a social awareness of resistance emerges from community leaders and the adult generation. Cuenca, 2017(2017) Pacheco Loja, Blanca Alexandra; Erreyes Cabrera, Silvana del Rocío; Angulo Rosero, Aydee Narcisa; Sinche Rivera, Elisabeth CeciliaBackground: Knowledge on HIV/AIDS infection plays an important role in the promotion of health and prevention of disease; the early initiation of sexual activity, not sustained use of condom use, number of sexual partners (1), and of the ignorance about the disease make Ecuador has a prevalence of 3.9%. (2) Objective: To determine the level of knowledge and practices about HIV/AIDS among students in the educational unit César Dávila Andrade. Basin, 2017. Methodology: A descriptive study, information was collected directly from students of the Educational Unit César Dávila Andrade using a data collection form which included: demographics, school children, marital status, residence, knowledge about HIV/AIDS, attitudes and beliefs. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 15. Results: The 75.26% of the students have 17 years and a predominance of females (51.08%); 40.86% is in the third year, the Marital status Single (96.77%) and frequent urban residence (88.71%); 72.04% knows about the disease but the 70.96% is not able to establish the difference between HIV and AIDS, sex (47.84%) and blood transfusions (47.7%) are considered the most common infection; prevention campaigns (55.01%) and the educational institution (52.08%) provide information; the first sexual relationship occurred without the protection of 14-16 years with her boyfriend, currently 47.31% has had more than three sexual partners and the 72.04 does not use protection. Nazón 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-05-05) Bravo Cuzco, Sandy Cristina; Tapia Flores, Deyci Karolina; Sinche Rivera, Elisabeth CeciliaAdolescence is the period of life after childhood and before adulthood, ideal to identify and warn of the potential harm people are exposed to in regard to sexually transmitted diseases. The purpose of this was to determine knowledge, attitudes, and risk perceptions about HIV / SIDA in adolescents attending Nelson Izquierdo Naula School, in Nazón, 2022. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study, featuring a sample of 184 individuals. The instrument used was questionnaire called “Assessment of knowledge, attitudes, and risk perceptions about HIV/AIDS”. The results show an average age of 15,27 years; 52,3% are female and 60,9% are senior students. The main access to media is the Internet (90,1%). In regard to general knowledge, 70,2% of the participants identify AIDS as a disease; in regard to modes of transmission, 67,5% say they have penetrative sexual relations without using a condom. On the subject of the attitude towards information strategies, 58,3% of the students express considerable interest in conferences, health professionals´ talks and Internet. In regard to prevention methods, 40,4% agree that condoms should be cheap and accessible, and 42,4% disagree with moving a relative from a classroom if one of their classmates has this disease. On the risk perception about the probability of becoming infected, 35,1% of participants stated that there is no possibility and 35,8% said that risk is little. In conclusion, the participants identify HIV / IADS as a disease, but there is still a lack of knowledge of the modes of transmission and prevention methods. They show empathy with patients with this disease and also considerable interest in receiving information through talks, health professionals and the Internet. The present investigation try to tackle about the risks that the members of the focus group present according to their knowledge, beliefs, attitudes and sexual practices in the Shuar community. The main objective of this investigation was to describe the knowledge, beliefs, sexual attitudes and practices related to HIV / AIDS. The participants were 5 people with ages between 22 and 50 years old. The information collection was done through the use of structured interviews. The results show that people are unaware of HIV/AIDS and do not know the risk to which they are exposed due to lack of prevention, an early diagnosis, an ineffective medical assistance, and this is affected mainly by scarce information. There are risk behaviors related to liberality versus sexual relations, highlighting the departure of men to the consumer society. General Objective: To analyse the knowledge, beliefs, attitudes and sexual practices related to HIV/AIDS, in the community of San Luis de Ininkis, Parroquia Sevilla Don Bosco, Morona Santiago 2017. Methodology: This study is of qualitative type whose population of study are the members of the ethnic Shuar. The sample was 6 people between 18 and 50 years of both sexes, belonging to the community of San Luis de Ininkis with active sexual life. A thorough interview was conducted with questions related to HIV knowledge and sexual practices, to triangulate and validate the information we proceeded to select participants through the Community Health Center, the data were Visualized and transcribed with the help of the Atlas ti program. Use of results: This research will allow us to analyse the knowledge, practices and beliefs that sexually active people in this community have about HIV/AIDS. Significant physical, cognitive, and psychosocial changes are experienced during this time, impacting various areas of human development. Adolescents face a substantial burden of morbidity due to preventable causes, mainly related to mental health, sexual and reproductive health, communicable and non- communicable diseases, physical inactivity, consumption of psychoactive substances, violence, and selfdestructive behaviors. Objective: To characterize the lifestyle of early adolescents aged 10 to 14 years from a military educational unit in the city of Cuenca. Sociodemographic variables will also be investigated, as well as the evaluation of ten dimensions: family-friend relationships, physical and social activity, nutrition, substance use, alcohol consumption, sleep and stress, personality type, school satisfaction, body image, health and sexual behavior, and orderliness. Additionally, the study aims to quantify lifestyle domains that may benefit or affect adolescent health. Methodology: A descriptive quantitative methodology was employed, using the "FANTASTIC" instrument, which is a tool that helps adolescents to recognize lifestyle habits that influence their health and well-being. Results: The study is expected to characterize the lifestyle of adolescents in the early stages of development, thereby preventing long-term problems and promoting adolescent health and well-being. Conclusions: The quantification of the "FANTASTIC" questionnaire scores shows that 49.9% of adolescents have a lifestyle considered "Good job, you’re on the right track," while 37.7% have a "Fantastic" lifestyle. Additionally, 9.5% have an "Adequate" lifestyle, and 2.9% fall into the "Somewhat low, you could improve" category. OBJECTIVE: To identify situational leadership styles that the nurses of health institutions adopt in the canton Cuenca. METHODOLOGY: We use descriptive method, applied to 98 licensed nurses staff in health facilities, mobile unit, health clinics and Rehabilitation Center Social - Turi all of them belong to the Districts 01D01 and 01D02 health, Cuenca 2016. Data were collected through the professor Herman Bachenheimer’s instrument about situational leadership, the information was processed in SPSS v24 program. RESULTS: The 98 nurses ; 62 (63.3%) take the leadership style “Leading”, 14 adopt leadership style “Participate” (14.3%), 9 adopt leadership style “Lead” (9.2%), 1 adopts Delegating leadership style (1%). On the other hand, From the 98 nurses 12 people adopt two styles of situational leadership at the same time; having thus: 5 adopt the Direct-Guide (5.1%), 4 Leading-Join (4.1%), 2 Direct- Participate (2%) styles, and one Guide- Delegate (1%). We used a pre-test prior to research to learn knowledge about sexuality, based on information from an educational program was developed and applied a post-test to determine if the level of knowledge was improved in the group. The information obtained was processed and analyzed in SPSS and Excel programs and data are presented in simple tables and combined. Considering the results found that: The 46.72% of teens have had sex, married 7.47%, 1.86%, cohabiting, 30.76% experienced their first pregnancy, a 15.38% had practiced abortion, 8.82% are teen parents and 27.47% were unaware if they have procreated. Before the intervention, the / as teenagers had shortcomings in the information search and sexual rights, preventing pregnancy and STDs, influenced by their peers, internet and facebook for consultation and communication of their sexuality, being poor communication with their parents and caregivers. After the intervention, the level of knowledge and the way they search and communication of their sexuality changed positively.Item Estudio Cualitativo: Prácticas sexuales relacionadas con el VIH/SIDA en las comunidades Shuar de la parroquia Sevilla Don Bosco - Morona Santiago, 2017(2019) Angulo Rosero, Aydee Narcisa; Jiménez Brito, Doriz Angélica; Brito Roby, Liliana Alexandra; Estrada Zamora, Esmeralda Maricela; Sinche Rivera, Elisabeth CeciliaBACKGROUND: Ethnic groups of Latin America and Ecuador do to their cultural differences, sexual behaviors, low escolarity, and poor access to information; would be exposed to an increased risk of acquiring sexually transmitted infections. The transmission of human immunodeficiency virus in Shuar communities is increa-sing lately. The aim of this study was to identify sexual practices related to the transmission of human immu-nodeficiency virus/ acquired immunodeficiency syndrome in Shuar communities of the Don Bosco – Morona Santiago.METHODS: A qualitative phenomenological study was performed. The universe included Shuar communities of Sevilla Don Bosco – Morona Santiago in Ecuador; the sample was selected by convenience. Inclusion criteria were people with active sexual life and not diagnosed with the disease. The information was collected through four focus groups and eleven in-depth interviews.RESULTS: 35 people were included, men and women between 12 to 50 years old. The data showed that sexual practices were mainly heterosexual, high risk sexual behaviors were identified due to the sporadic use of the condom and multiple sexual behaviors. The exchange sexual partners, sporadic sex, and oral or anal sex were unknown sexual practices and were identified as strange to the community. CONCLUSIONS: High risk sexual practices that could increase the risk of human immunodeficiency virus trans-mission were identified in people belonging to the Shuar communities; being the lack of use of contraceptive methods and the multiple sexual partners the most representatives. Objective: This research study determined risk factors for the onset of alcohol use in adolescents basic cycle Fray Vicente Solano College, City Basin 2011-2012. Material and Methods: This was a descriptive and quantitative study, in that it describes the characteristics of the risk factors for the onset of drinking, and then presents the data in a quantitative way. Universe consists of the total of 496 adolescents enrolled in the basic course of the College "Fray Vicente Solano", of which 415 students accepted to join the investigation. As the survey technique was used through a form, which was applied to the basic cycle teens Fray Vicente Solano College. Results: The investigation concluded the existence of alcohol consumption differentiated by gender 55% women and 75% men consume alcohol. It also confirmed the strong role of the family with 66% and the influence of friends is 56%, which are the key risk factors to encourage drinking. 66% of respondents have consumed alcohol. As for the family factor found that 184 teenagers have a closer drinker at home as a parent. Finally the individual factors that lead to teen alcohol intake are curiosity 84%, 43% search for fun, low self esteem 40%.Item Grado de satisfacción de las madres referentes a los cuidados recibidos durante el parto y puerperio. Objective: to evaluate the degree of satisfaction of mothers regarding the care received during childbirth and puerperium. Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital. Azogues, 2022-2023. Methodology: an observational, descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted, with a sample of 152 mothers from the Obstetrics area of the Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital, in the city of Azogues. Data were collected with the help of the COMFORTS scale. The collected data were transcribed to the statistical program SPSS V26.0. For the statistical analysis, frequency distribution, percentages and measures of central tendency were used. Results: the predominant age group was 25 to 34 years (46.1%), free union 40.8%; third level of education 49.3%, mostly housewives 66.4%, rural residents 55.9%. In the global analysis 71.7% mothers are satisfied with the care received. In the dimension, childbirth care, 59.2% satisfied; postpartum care, 63.2% satisfied; NB care, 53.3% satisfied; and logistics/environment , 53.9% satisfied. When people do exercises more often in certain time, they adopt those behaviors as ways of living which identify the person, family, community and cultural group. In addition they are equipped with the belief to be good; sometimes they have become an integral part of themselves. Objective. Identify the students lifestyle from the School of Nursing at the University of Cuenca. 2014. Methodology. The study is a descriptive type. The Students lifestyle from the School of Nursing in their freshman and senior year were investigated. The sample was 175 students. The information was obtained through students survey and proceeded to statistical analysis (tables and graphs) by using programs like Excel and Word 2010. Results. The age range of / students of first and fourth year of the School of Nursing is 18-23 years; 152 of the 175 students are women and the remaining 23 are men; in terms of marital status 71.4% are single and 12% were single; according to residence, 74.3% live in urban areas and 25.7% in rural areas; and 87.4% belong to the Sierra and 6.3% are from the east coast. Conclusions. Objective: To identify urban subcultures and its associated factors in adolescents of 8th, 9th and 10th graders at Carlos Rigoberto Vintimilla Institute. Cuenca 2014. Methods and Materials: A descriptive study was conducted to 194 adolescents from 8th to 10th grades of basic education, registered in the school year 2013 – 2014. A survey was made to obtain data of socio-demographics, of the familiar and psychosocial environment around teenager, as well as the characteristics of urban subcultures. The information was processed in the programs SPSS, Epi – info, Word y Excel. Results: Of 194 students, 7.7% belong to any urban subculture; this is 5.1% of the men and 2.6% of the women. Family dysfunctionality is higher in adolescents that do not belong to a subculture, 22.2% of teens have family dysfunctionality in relation those who belong with a 3.1%. In both groups, 38.2% have family residing abroad. The reasons for which they integrate into to an urban subculture are: 33.3% perceive it as being cool, 33.3% because of friendships, ideology, and 6.7% because of music and clothing. The distinguishing features most used are: shoes at 60%, hair/hairstyle at 46.7%, marks and tattoos at 26.7%, and bling-bling at 13.3%. Methodology: Research Action (Educational Intervention) was performed in adolescents Pedagogical Institute Intercultural Bilingual "Quilloac" he used a pre CAPs on contraception, then execute a plan of educational intervention, then applied a post CAPs to determine the impact thereof. As the interview technique was used direct observation; Data were recorded on a form developed and validated by the authors. The information was processed in EXCEL and SPSS programs, and then presented in tables with their statistical analysis. Results: We worked with 206 adolescents, of whom 63.1 % were male and 36.9 % are women who, despite having information about contraception in 75.7 % in the pre CAPs have low knowledge about sex, contraception, contraceptives, sex, bodies involved in pregnancy, regarding the practice could deduce that 54.4 % have sex with or without protection. After the educational intervention, the results improved substantially, from 0.5 % of knowledge about contraception to a 59.7 % decrease in the percentage of inadequate knowledge and do not know. Cuenca. 2015. Methods: This research is qualitative and quantitative, because it allowed us to determine the academic performance of the children / learners of migrant parents and the influence of migration at the same. A survey was applied to 182 adolescents in their third year of high school who are active in the Checa Education Unit, getting 85 children with migrant parents will study the universe. The techniques used for data collection were document review, direct observation and surveys. As a tool, we use a form developed and validated by the authors, with the implementation of the pilot. The tabulation and analysis of this research was through statistical programs, Excel and SPSS version 15.0 for Windows in Spanish, the results are presented through frequency tables for a better view of the problems encountered in this investigative process. RESULTS The results to conduct research obtained teenagers from the ninth to the third year of high school are: 182 students a total of 85 students representing children/ learners of migrant parent’s percentage 46.7% were obtained. Of the total of children/ learners of migrant parents males have the highest percentage with 54.12% and the course with the highest percentage with migrant parents is the ninth with 13.2% of which 50.6% live only with their mothers demonstrating migration from parents. International migration has a majority stake of 89.41%.
