    Bronchial asthma is a major public health problem in Latin America, with a prevalence of 3-5 percent. Its pathogenesis is still unknown, existing theories as immune, neurogenic and new concept. Among the precipitating factors are: allergens, climate change, respiratory infections and exercise. Crises clinically manifest with dyspnea, coughing, wheezing, cyanosis and confusion, with symptom-free periods. Because much of the child's life unfolds in school it is important for teachers to have adequate knowledge about asthma and its triggers. The aim of this study was to assess knowledge, attitudes and practices of teachers on the subject, obtaining the following conclusions: The knowledge of most of the teachers are successful, there is a minority that unknown. Teachers have a positive attitude towards the possibility of asthmatic students. As for practice, expressing not be able to face an asthma attack. And they agree on the need for an instructional guide about asthma. Therefore, a guide on asthma for professors from schools of the city of Cuenca, fulfilling one of the main objectives of this study was derived.
